Triple E is recalling 95 2020-2021 Unity motorhomes because the galley overhead cabinet assembly is missing a heat shield over the cooktop. What's wrong?
The stainless heat shield in the 2020-2021 Triple E Unity motorhome is a 22 gauge panel that sits above the cooktop. Its job is to block cooking heat from reaching the underside of the galley overhead cabinet. With the shield in place and enough clearance above the burner, the cabinet stays separated from normal cooktop heat.
On affected Unity motorhomes, the galley overhead cabinet assembly was built without that heat shield. A design change added an open shelf under the cabinet, but the drawing did not account for the reduced space above the Dometic cooktop. The cooktop manual calls for 762mm of clearance, while the affected cabinet has 690mm, leaving the cabinet too close to the heat source.
Owners can notice the underside of the upper galley cabinet becoming very hot to the touch. That heat is the warning sign that the cabinet area is being exposed to more cooktop heat than the design allows.
Who's affected?
Covers the 2020 and 2021 Unity model years, both tied to the same oven/stove/cooktop heat shield.

The year and model narrow the scope, but the VIN decides. Check your VIN to confirm whether your specific motorhome is included.
What's the safety risk?
Heat from the cooktop can radiate into the underside of the upper galley cabinet, increasing the risk of fire and bodily injury. If that cabinet surface feels very hot, stop using the cooktop and schedule the dealer repair soon. Repair is free at any franchised Triple E dealer.

What happens at the repair
At the dealer or RV service center, a Triple E technician installs the repair kit for the galley overhead cabinet assembly. The kit adds the missing stainless steel heat shield above the cooktop, with steel shims and pan head screws used to secure the repair. Parts and labor are covered under the recall. If you already paid for this repair before the owner notice, Triple E will reimburse the owner or pay the servicing center directly. Keep the repair invoice or service paperwork and contact Triple E customer service for the claim path.
