Recall 20V622 affects 19,075 2020 Ram 1500 and 2500 trucks for detached driver-side mirror glass. Repair is free at any franchised Ram dealer.
Ram is recalling 19,075 2020 1500 and 2500 trucks because the driver side mirror glass can detach from its backing plate and stop providing a reflective surface. Missing mirror glass reduces rear visibility and increases crash risk, and Ram dealers will replace the mirror glass free of charge.

What's wrong?
The driver-side outside mirror on the 2020 Ram 1500 and 2500 is supposed to give the driver a steady view along the left side of the truck. The mirror assembly holds a reflective glass panel on a backing plate, and that backing plate keeps the glass in position while the truck vibrates, turns, and changes lanes.
On affected trucks, the mirror glass was not properly adhered to that backing plate. The bond between the glass and the plate can let go, so the glass separates from the mirror assembly and stops providing a usable reflective surface. Without that left-side mirror view, the driver has less rear visibility on that side of the truck.
There is no warning sign before failure. The first thing an owner notices is likely the glass detaching, missing, or no longer showing a clear reflective view from the driver-side mirror.
Who's affected?
Covers the Ram 1500 and 2500 pickup lines in the same model year, both tied to the outside heated power left mirror assembly.

What's the safety risk?
Missing driver side mirror glass reduces the driver's view along the left side of the truck and increases the risk of a crash during lane changes, turns, or backing up. If your VIN is included, check the mirror before each trip and schedule the recall repair soon if the glass is missing. Repair is free at any franchised Ram dealer.

What happens at the repair
At the dealer, a Ram technician replaces the driver side mirror glass so the mirror has a reflective surface again. The replacement parts and labor are free under recall 20V622. If you already paid for this mirror repair before the owner letter, FCA US has a reimbursement process for documented expenses. Send the original receipt and other adequate proof of payment to FCA US for confirmation, or ask Ram service how to submit the paperwork.
