The front seat airbags in affected 2017, 2019, 2020 Aston Martin Vantage, DB11, and Dbs Superleggera vehicles are mounted inside the front seats. Each airbag is held in place by 2 locking nuts, also called Nyloc nuts, that are supposed to stay tight so the airbag is secured in the correct position.
On these vehicles, Aston Martin found that the front seat airbag fixings were not tightened to the required torque during seat assembly. Torque is the set amount of tightening force for a fastener. If the locking nuts are loose, the airbag assembly can move or rattle instead of staying firmly attached to the seat structure.
