Recall 20V404 covers 16,776 2016-2020 Fccc RV chassis because PDM damage disables exterior lights. Repair will be free once available.
Fccc is recalling 16,776 2016-2020 Xcr, Xcs, Xcp, Xbp, Xcm, Xbr, Xbs, and Xcl recreation vehicle chassis because the rear-mounted Power Distribution Module can be damaged and leave rear marker lights, brake lights, or turn signals inoperative. Non-functioning exterior marker lights can increase crash risk, and the dealer repair will be free once Fccc makes it available.

What's wrong?
The Power Distribution Module on 2016-2020 Fccc Xcr, Xcs, Xcp, Xbp, Xcm, Xbr, Xbs, and Xcl recreation vehicle chassis is an electrical control box mounted at the rear of the chassis. It routes power to exterior lights, including rear marker lights, brake lights, and turn signals, so other drivers can see the coach and read braking or lane-change signals.
On affected chassis, that rear-mounted module was damaged during manufacturing. Some chassis also received only an inspection under recall 18V-582, and that inspection did not reliably catch every failed module. When the PDM does not pass power correctly, one or more rear lights stop working even though the rest of the vehicle appears usable.
Owners can find the problem during a pre-trip inspection. Walk behind the vehicle and confirm that the rear marker lights, brake lights, and turn signals all work before driving.
Who's affected?
Spans 8 Fccc chassis models across the 2016-2020 model years, with the power distribution module tied to electrical system, turn signal, and brake light functions.

A matching year and model does not guarantee inclusion. Check your VIN to confirm whether your specific vehicle is included.
What's the safety risk?
Exterior marker lights that do not work make the vehicle harder to see and increase the risk of a crash. Check the exterior lights during a pre-trip inspection, and schedule service if any marker light is out. Repair will be free at any franchised Fccc dealer once available.
What should I do?
- Check your VIN to confirm your 2016-2020 Fccc Xcr, Xcs, Xcp, Xbp, Xcm, Xbr, Xbs, or Xcl chassis is included in this recall.
- Wait for Fccc's repair notice before scheduling the final dealer repair; the dealer repair is free once it opens.
- Contact a franchised Fccc dealer and ask whether recall number 20V404 is ready for your VIN.
- Schedule the PDM replacement that fixes rear marker lights, brake lights, or turn signals that stop working once the repair is open.
- Check rear marker lights, brake lights, and turn signals before each trip until the repair is complete.
- Call Fccc customer service at 1-800-547-0712 with questions and reference recall number 20V404 when you call.
What happens at the repair
At the dealer, a Fccc technician will replace the rear mounted Power Distribution Module once the final repair is available. The PDM feeds the rear marker lights, brake lights, and turn signals, so the repair focuses on restoring that rear lighting circuit. Parts and labor will be covered under the recall once the repair opens. Owners who paid out of pocket for a related PDM or rear lighting repair can use the manufacturer's standard reimbursement plan. Keep repair invoices and payment records for that claim.

Frequently asked questions
What is recall 20V404?
Recall 20V404 covers 16,776 2016-2020 Fccc Xcr, Xcs, Xcp, Xbp, Xcm, Xbr, Xbs, and Xcl recreation vehicle chassis that received the inspection-only remedy from recall 18V582. The rear power distribution module can leave rear marker lights, brake lights, or turn signals inoperative.
What should I do if my 2016-2020 Fccc Xcr, Xcs, Xcp, Xbp, Xcm, Xbr, Xbs, or Xcl is on this recall?
Check your VIN to confirm your specific chassis is included in recall 20V404. If it is, contact a franchised Fccc dealer and ask whether the rear power distribution module replacement is open for your VIN. Reference recall number 20V404 and DTNA recall FL-856 when you call.
Is the recall repair free?
Yes. Federal recall law requires manufacturers to repair recall defects at no cost, and DTNA says dealers will replace the rear power distribution module free of charge. Parts and labor are covered at a franchised Fccc dealer once the remedy is open for your VIN.
What is the safety risk in recall 20V404?
The risk is that rear exterior lights stop working. If the marker lights, brake lights, or turn signals do not function, other drivers have less information about the vehicle's position, braking, or turning, increasing crash risk. The repair path is replacement of the rear power distribution module.
What if I bought this Fccc chassis used?
The free recall repair still applies. Recall coverage follows the VIN, not the first owner. If you never received DTNA's September 4, 2020 interim notice, check your VIN, then call a franchised Fccc dealer with recall number 20V404 and DTNA recall FL-856.
