Recall 20V240 covers 43 2019-2020 Terex TL80/112 and TL80 aerial devices for incorrect slope indicators and decals. Repair is free at any franchised Terex dealer.
Terex is recalling 43 2019-2020 TL80/112 and TL80 aerial devices because the slope indicator and decals wrongly say the chassis can be 5 degrees out of level during use. Operating the aerial device out of level can make the unit unstable and tip, increasing injury risk for the operator and bystanders; Terex dealers will complete the free repair.

What's wrong?
The level indicator on 2019-2020 Terex TL80/112 and TL80 aerial devices is supposed to show whether the truck chassis is level before the boom is operated. The indicator and the decal work together: the indicator gives the operator the level reading, and the decal tells the operator what setup is allowed. The aerial device depends on a level chassis to stay stable while the boom is in use.
On affected units, the wrong slope indicator and matching decal were installed because the wrong parts were listed in the build material. The incorrect indicator shows a green permitted-use zone of 5 degrees on either side of level, and the decal says the chassis can be 5 degrees out of level. Terex testing found the machines must be level for stable operation.
Before instability, the operator can see the outrigger feet and chassis tires lift excessively off the ground. That is the warning sign that the setup is not stable enough for aerial device use.
Who's affected?
Covers TL80/112 and TL80 configurations across the 2019 and 2020 model years, all using the same level indicator.

What's the safety risk?
Using the aerial device while the chassis is out of level can make the unit unstable. The unit can tip and injure the operator or bystanders. Excessive lifting at the outrigger feet and chassis tires is the warning sign. Stop aerial operation and arrange service. Repair is free at any franchised Terex dealer.
What should I do?
- Check your VIN to confirm your 2019-2020 Terex TL80/112 or TL80 aerial device is included in this recall.
- Contact a franchised Terex dealer to schedule the free slope-indicator and decal replacement that corrects the out-of-level use information.
- Bring the recall notice, or reference recall number 20V240 and Terex recall SN685 when you call.
- Use the aerial device only with the chassis level until the repair is complete; the incorrect slope indicator and decals overstate the safe out-of-level position.
What happens at the repair
At the dealer, a Terex technician replaces the incorrect slope indicator and decals with the correct parts for the TL80 and TL80/112 aerial device. The recall repair is free. Parts and labor are covered. The corrected indicator and decals give the operator the right leveling information for aerial device use, which is the point of this campaign. Terex has a general reimbursement plan on file, so if you already paid for this same slope indicator or decal repair before the recall work, contact Terex customer service and ask what documentation they require for reimbursement.
