What's wrong?
The rear brake line on the 2019-2020 KTM 790 Adventure and 790 Adventure R motorcycles carries brake fluid to the rear brake caliper. When you press the rear brake pedal, fluid pressure moves through this hose and fitting so the caliper can squeeze the brake pads against the rotor. The hose, fitting, and seals have to hold pressure while handling heat from the brake assembly.
On affected motorcycles, heat does not transfer well enough between the hose and the metal fitting mounted at the rear brake caliper. KTM traced the problem to a material deviation, and the hose can overheat during use. If the rear brake line is damaged by that heat, pressure in the rear brake system can be lost and the rear brake can fail.
There is no warning sign before failure. A normal pedal feel does not confirm that the rear brake line is safe, so the VIN decides whether this repair applies.

Covers the 790 Adventure and 790 Adventure R across 2019 and 2020, with the same rear hydraulic brake hose listed for each.

What's the safety risk?
A rear brake system failure reduces braking ability and increases the risk of a crash or injury. There is no warning sign before failure, so do not rely on symptoms to decide whether your motorcycle is affected. Schedule the recall repair soon. Repair is free at any franchised KTM dealer.
What should I do?
- Check your VIN to confirm your 2019-2020 KTM 790 Adventure or 790 Adventure R is included in this recall.
- Contact a franchised KTM dealer to schedule the free rear brake line installation that fixes the overheated rear brake hose.
- Bring the recall notice if KTM mailed one. If not, reference recall number 20V198 and KTM recall TB2011 when you call.

- Ride cautiously until the repair is complete. Avoid relying on the rear brake alone and leave extra stopping distance.
What happens at the repair
