What's wrong?
The tilt control box assembly on 2011-2020 Terex Tm-Series bucket trucks is the enclosure that holds the level sensor, two limit switches, and wiring for platform leveling. The level sensor tracks platform angle. The limit switches are supposed to stop leveling movement when the platform reaches 15 degrees out of level, so the platform does not keep tilting after boom movement stops.
On affected trucks, the two limit switches were installed in the wrong orientation. One switch was upside down, and the switches were also in the wrong position. Because of that mounting error, the switch assembly does not interrupt platform leveling at the designed 15-degree limit. If the level system malfunctions, the platform can keep moving upward or downward instead of stopping at the limit.
The warning sign is platform movement that continues after boom movement has stopped. If the platform keeps leveling in either direction past 15 degrees out of level, that is the condition this recall addresses.

What's the safety risk?
A platform level limit switch that fails to stop tilt can let the platform continue leveling after boom movement stops. The platform occupant can fall, increasing the risk of injury. If the platform keeps leveling out of position, stop using it and contact a Terex dealer. Repair is free at any franchised Terex dealer.
