What's wrong?
The turbocharger oil feed line on these 2018-2019 Mercedes-Benz AMG E63, AMG E63S, AMG S63, AMG G63, AMG GT63, and AMG GT 63 vehicles carries engine oil to the turbocharger. That oil lubricates and cools the turbocharger while exhaust pressure spins it at high speed. The line has to stay sealed while the engine is hot and under load.
On affected vehicles, a supplier production problem left a batch of oil feed lines with elastomeric material, the flexible rubber-like part of the line, that did not meet specification. As that material breaks down, the oil feed line can lose its seal and leak oil near the turbocharger. Mercedes-Benz says vehicles outside this recall have an oil feed line made to the current specification.
There is no warning sign before failure. The owner does not get an advance warning because of how the oil feed line fails.
Who's affected?
Spans six AMG model lines across the 2018 and 2019 model years, all tied to the turbo/supercharger component.

What's the safety risk?
An oil leak in the presence of hot engine or exhaust components can increase the risk of a fire. There is no warning sign before this failure, so schedule the recall repair soon and call the dealer if you see an oil leak. Repair is free at any franchised Mercedes-Benz dealer.
What should I do?
- Check your VIN to confirm your 2018-2019 Mercedes-Benz AMG S63, AMG GT63, AMG E63S, AMG GT 63, AMG E63, or AMG G63 is included in this recall.
- Contact a franchised Mercedes-Benz dealer to schedule the free oil feed line replacement that fixes the turbocharger oil leak tied to fire risk.
- Bring the recall notice if Mercedes-Benz mailed one. If not, reference recall number 20V048 when you call.
- Call Mercedes-Benz customer service at 1-800-367-6372 with questions about scheduling or dealer handling.
- Avoid delaying the repair once your VIN is confirmed, since the leak involves hot engine or exhaust components.
What happens at the repair
At the dealer, a Mercedes-Benz technician replaces the oil feed line to the turbocharger. The replacement parts and labor are free under the recall. Repairs already paid for are handled through the new vehicle warranty, not through a separate reimbursement program, because MBUSA said the involved vehicles were covered by that warranty. Ask the service desk how warranty coverage applies if you have prior repair paperwork tied to the turbocharger oil feed line leak.
