What's wrong?
The fuel pump assembly sits inside the fuel tank. Its job is to move gasoline from the tank to the engine at the pressure the engine needs to start, idle, and keep running. On affected Lexus vehicles in the 2013, 2014, 2015, 2017, 2018, and 2019 model years, the pump uses an internal impeller, the small rotating part that pushes fuel through the pump.
The recalled pumps were built with impellers that had lower density and lower surface strength, or were exposed to longer production solvent drying. That can let the impeller deform inside the pump. Once it changes shape, the pump can stop working, which cuts fuel delivery to the engine.
The warning sign listed for affected hybrid models is fail-safe driving mode, warning lights, and reduced power. For other affected vehicles, the filing does not list a separate warning sign before the fuel pump stops working.
Who's affected?
The scope crosses Lexus and Toyota nameplates, with each listed vehicle tied to the same fuel-pump assembly.

What's the safety risk?
A failed fuel pump can stall the engine while driving and increase crash risk. For hybrid models, fail-safe driving mode includes warning lights and reduced motive power. If warning lights appear or power drops, move out of traffic when safe and arrange service soon. Repair is free at any franchised Lexus dealer.
What should I do?
- Check your VIN to confirm your 2013, 2014, 2015, 2017, 2018, or 2019 Lexus model is included in this recall.
- Contact a franchised Lexus dealer to schedule the free low-pressure fuel-pump replacement that fixes the fuel pump failure behind the stall risk.
- Bring the recall notice if Lexus mailed one. If not, reference recall number 20V012 when you call.
- Drive cautiously until the repair is complete. Pull over safely if the engine stalls or loses power while driving.
What happens at the repair
At the dealer, a Lexus technician replaces the low-pressure fuel pump inside the fuel tank. Parts and labor are covered under the recall, so the repair is free. If you paid before this campaign to fix the same fuel pump condition, Toyota's General Reimbursement Plan gives you a path to claim documented out-of-pocket costs. Bring your repair paperwork and proof of payment to the Lexus service desk, or contact Lexus customer service for the reimbursement instructions tied to this recall.
