Triple E is recalling 6 2020 Unity U24RL trailers because propane tubing for the water heater is routed too close to the tire tread. Tire contact can puncture the tubing and release propane gas, which creates a fire risk near an ignition source; Triple E dealers will complete the recall repair free of charge.

What's wrong?
The water heater on the 2020 Triple E Unity uses copper propane tubing to carry LP gas from the trailer's propane system to the burner. That tubing is supposed to stay clear of moving suspension and tire parts, especially in the wheelwell, where the tire tread passes close to the body while the trailer is in motion.
On affected Unity trailers, the tubing was routed too close to the tire tread because of a design-plan error. As the trailer moves, tire contact can rub, bend, or damage the copper line. A damaged propane line can release gas near the wheelwell instead of feeding only the water heater. The repair adds a galvanized metal shield over the propane line in that area.
What you notice before a serious leak is a propane odor or the sound of gas escaping. Treat either sign as a reason to stop using the water heater and have the trailer checked before the line is damaged further.

What's the safety risk?
Tire contact with the propane tubing can wear a hole in the line, release propane gas, and increase the risk of fire near an ignition source. If you smell propane or hear gas escaping, keep ignition sources away and call the dealer before driving farther. Repair is free at any franchised Triple E dealer.

What happens at the repair
At the dealer, a Triple E technician installs a metal shield around the propane tubing near the water heater so the tire tread cannot contact the tubing. The recall repair is free, and parts and labor are covered. If you already paid for this propane tubing protection repair, Triple E's reimbursement plan says a retail owner is reimbursed or the servicing center is paid directly by Triple E RV. Contact Triple E customer service with your repair paperwork.
