Recall 19V860 affects 3,241 2016-2020 Fleetwood Bounder, Southwind, and Vacationer motorhomes for generator-exhaust-pipe damage. Repair is free at any franchised Fleetwood dealer.
Fleetwood is recalling 3,241 2016-2020 Bounder, Southwind, and Vacationer motorhomes because the generator exhaust pipe exits within the vehicle's departure angle, where it can be damaged. If that pipe is damaged, carbon monoxide can enter the motorhome and raise the risk of injury or death; Fleetwood dealers will complete the free repair.

What's wrong?
The generator exhaust pipe carries exhaust from the onboard generator out of the motorhome, away from the living area. On 2016-2020 Fleetwood Bounder, Southwind, and Vacationer motorhomes, that pipe should exit where it has enough clearance behind the coach. The key clearance point is the departure angle, the space the rear of the motorhome needs when it leaves a driveway, ramp, or uneven road.
On affected motorhomes, the generator exhaust pipe exits in or near that departure angle. When the rear of the coach passes over pavement at an angle, the pipe can hit the ground, scrape, bend, or break off. A damaged pipe no longer routes generator exhaust as designed, which brings exhaust fumes closer to the underside of the vehicle or possible interior entry points.
You can hear scraping if the exhaust pipe contacts pavement, or a break if the pipe separates. The motorhome also has a carbon monoxide detector that sounds an alarm if exhaust fumes enter the interior.

What's the safety risk?
A damaged generator exhaust pipe can let carbon monoxide enter the motorhome, increasing the risk of injury or death. Treat scraping from the exhaust pipe or a carbon monoxide alarm as a reason to stop using the generator and contact the dealer. Repair is free at any franchised Fleetwood dealer.
What should I do?
- Check your VIN to confirm your 2016-2020 Fleetwood Bounder, Southwind, or Vacationer motorhome is included in this recall.
- Contact a franchised Fleetwood dealer to schedule the free generator exhaust pipe inspection, replacement, and rerouting that keeps a damaged pipe from letting carbon monoxide enter the motorhome.
- Reference recall number 19V860 when you call, and have your VIN ready for the service desk.
- Bring the recall notice if REV or Fleetwood mailed one to you.
- Avoid using the generator until the dealer completes the exhaust pipe repair.
What happens at the repair
At the dealer, a Fleetwood technician inspects the generator exhaust pipe, replaces it if needed, and reroutes it so the outlet no longer exits within the motorhome's departure angle. The inspection, replacement, rerouting, parts, and labor are free under the recall. If you already paid out of pocket for this exhaust pipe repair and the vehicle was not covered by the new vehicle warranty, REV's standard reimbursement plan covers documented expenses. Bring repair paperwork and payment records to the service desk or contact REV customer service to start the claim.

Frequently asked questions
What is recall 19V860?
Recall 19V860 covers 3,241 2016-2020 Fleetwood Bounder, Southwind, and Vacationer motorhomes with generator exhaust pipes that exit within the vehicle's departure angle. If the pipe is damaged, carbon monoxide can enter the motorhome, increasing the risk of injury or death.
What should I do if my 2016-2020 Fleetwood Bounder, Southwind, or Vacationer is on this recall?
Check your VIN to confirm your specific motorhome is included in recall 19V860. If it is, contact a franchised Fleetwood dealer to schedule the generator exhaust pipe inspection, replacement, and rerouting. Reference recall number 19V860 or REV recall number 191125REV when you call.
Is the recall repair free?
Yes. Federal recall law requires the recall repair at no cost, and REV says dealers will inspect, replace, and reroute the generator exhaust pipe free of charge. The remedy is available now through a franchised Fleetwood dealer.
What is the safety risk from the generator exhaust pipe?
The safety risk is carbon monoxide entering the motorhome if the generator exhaust pipe is damaged. Carbon monoxide is dangerous because it can cause injury or death. Until the dealer completes the repair, pay close attention to exhaust damage and avoid running a damaged generator system.
What if I bought this motorhome used?
