Recall 19V833 affects 22 2019 Arcimoto Fuv motorcycles for inverter software that can shut down the battery. Repair is free at any franchised Arcimoto dealer.
Arcimoto is recalling 22 2019 Fuv motorcycles because the inverter broadcast can exceed its current limit and trigger an unexpected battery shutdown. If the battery shuts down, the motorcycle can immediately lose power and raise the risk of a crash; Arcimoto dealers will complete the repair free of charge.

What's wrong?
The inverter on a 2019 Arcimoto Fuv manages electric power between the battery and the drive system. It turns battery power into the controlled electrical output the motor uses to move the motorcycle. Its software is also supposed to keep that output within the programmed current limits.
On affected Fuv motorcycles, the earlier inverter software did not calculate the broadcast current accurately. That broadcast current is the software signal the system uses to track electrical demand. Because the software allowed significant overshoot of the current limits, the system opened the isolation contactor, a high-voltage switch that disconnects the battery. When that switch opens during normal operation, the battery shuts down unexpectedly.
There is no warning sign before failure. The rider is not given a symptom to watch for before the battery shutdown happens.

What's the safety risk?
An unexpected battery shutdown can cut motorcycle power immediately and increase the risk of a crash. There is no warning sign before the shutdown, so treat this as a reason to schedule the inverter software reprogramming soon. Repair is free at any franchised Arcimoto dealer.
What should I do?
- Check your VIN to confirm your 2019 Arcimoto Fuv is included in this recall.
- Contact a franchised Arcimoto dealer to schedule the free inverter software update that prevents an unexpected battery shutdown.
- Bring the recall notice if Arcimoto has mailed one. If not, reference recall number 19V833 when you call.
- Ride cautiously until the software update is complete. Leave extra following distance and avoid high-speed routes.
What happens at the repair
At the dealer, an Arcimoto technician reprograms the inverter software so the inverter stays within its current limit and avoids an unexpected battery shutdown. The software update and labor are free under the recall. Arcimoto's standard reimbursement plan covers qualifying out of pocket inverter repairs paid before the recall notice. Ask Arcimoto customer service or the dealer service desk what documentation they need.
