Recall 19V525 covers 5,598 2016-2020 Heartland trailers for an overheating A/C electrical connector. Repair is free at any franchised Heartland dealer.
Heartland is recalling 5,598 2016-2020 Pioneer, Elkridge, Milestone, and Sundance trailers because an improperly installed A/C electrical connector can create higher resistance and heat at the connection. That overheating can increase the risk of a fire, and Heartland dealers will repair the connector free of charge.

What's wrong?
The recalled 2016-2020 Heartland trailers use an electrical connector inside the air conditioner electrical box to join the wiring that powers and controls the A/C. That connection is supposed to hold the wires tightly together so current flows through the circuit without heat building at the joint.
On affected Pioneer, North Peak, Milestone, Elkridge, Sundance, Prowler, Oakmont, and Bighorn trailers, the connector was not always crimped with the proper tool. A loose or poorly crimped connection creates extra electrical resistance. Resistance turns electrical current into heat at the connector, and that heat can damage the wiring, smolder inside the electrical box, or start a fire. Heartland's repair replaces the affected connection with yellow electrical wire nuts wrapped in black tape.
Owners can notice the air conditioner running poorly or stopping altogether. Smoke from the A/C, or a smoke smell near the unit, is the warning sign to take seriously.

What's the safety risk?
Overheating at the connection increases the risk of a fire. If the A/C stops running correctly, or you see or smell smoke near it, stop using the A/C and contact the dealer. Repair is free at any franchised Heartland dealer.
What should I do?
- Check your VIN to confirm your 2016-2020 Heartland Pioneer, North Peak, Milestone, Elkridge, Sundance, Prowler, Oakmont, or Bighorn trailer is included in this recall.
- Contact a franchised Heartland dealer to schedule the free A/C electrical-connection correction that addresses excess resistance and overheating.
- Bring the recall notice if Heartland mailed one. If not, reference recall number 19V525 and Heartland recall 99.01.47 when you call.
- Avoid using the trailer's A/C until the dealer confirms the electrical connections have been corrected.
What happens at the repair
At the dealer, a Heartland technician corrects the A/C electrical connections covered by the recall, including the connector installation tied to overheating risk. Parts and labor are free under the recall. Heartland has a general reimbursement plan on file for documented repairs paid before the recall notice. If you already paid for an A/C connector or related electrical connection repair, bring invoices and payment records to the service desk and ask how Heartland handles reimbursement under that plan.
