Recall 19V377 affects 300 2018-2019 Suzuki Burgman 200 scooters for a CVT drive plate that can break. Repair is free at any franchised Suzuki dealer.
Suzuki is recalling 300 2018-2019 Burgman 200 scooters under recall 19V377 because rivet connections in the Continuously Variable Transmission can fail and break the drive plate. If that happens, the scooter loses power to the rear wheel and the risk of a crash rises. Suzuki dealers will inspect and repair the CVT free of charge.

What's wrong?
The continuously variable transmission (CVT) on the Burgman 200 uses a movable driven face, a pulley that opens and closes to change the gear ratio as you accelerate. Rivets hold the parts of that pulley together so it can squeeze and release the drive belt under load. Every time the scooter accelerates, the pulley parts press hard against each other and the rivets carry the stress.
On affected Burgman 200 scooters, the rivet holes in the driven face were produced with an improper shape. That shape weakens the connection between the riveted parts. With continued use, hard acceleration loads concentrate stress on the rivets until the connections fail. Once the rivets give way, the driven face breaks apart inside the transmission, and the scooter loses drive to the rear wheel.
There is no warning sign before failure. The breakage happens inside the sealed CVT housing during acceleration, with no audible or visible cue beforehand.

Covers both the 2018 and 2019 model years of the Burgman 200 scooter, all sharing the same automatic transmission defect.

A matching year and model does not guarantee inclusion. Check your VIN to confirm whether your specific scooter is included in this recall.
What's the safety risk?
A broken drive plate cuts power to the rear wheel without warning, which can cause a crash, especially in traffic or mid-corner. Treat any sudden loss of drive as a reason to stop riding and arrange transport to the dealer rather than continuing on the scooter. Repair is free at any franchised Suzuki dealer.
What should I do?
- Check your VIN to confirm your 2018-2019 Suzuki Burgman 200 is included in this recall.
- Contact a franchised Suzuki dealer to schedule the free drive-plate replacement that fixes the failure-prone CVT connection.
- Reference recall number 19V377 (Suzuki recall 2A89) when you call the dealer or customer service.
- Call Suzuki customer service at 1-714-572-1490 with questions about parts availability or the owner letter.
- Ride cautiously until the repair is complete, since a broken drive plate cuts power to the rear wheel without warning.
What happens at the repair
At the dealer, a Suzuki technician replaces the drive plate inside the Continuously Variable Transmission, the part where the rivet connections can fail and let the movable driven face break. Parts and labor are free under the recall. If you already paid out of pocket to repair a failed drive plate or related CVT damage before the recall notice, Suzuki's standard reimbursement plan covers documented expenses. Bring your receipts and any repair paperwork to the service desk when you arrive, and ask the advisor to process the claim alongside the recall work.
