Recall 19V129 covers 1,535 2018-2019 Keystone Alpine, Avalanche, Montana, and Montana High Country trailers. Cargo-tray fasteners can fail. Dealer repair is free.
Keystone is recalling 1,535 2018-2019 Alpine, Montana High Country, Montana, and Avalanche recreational trailers equipped with cargo trays because rivets securing the stop bracket can shear and let the tray detach. If the cargo tray detaches, it can hit someone and increase injury risk; Keystone dealers will repair the cargo tray free of charge.

What's wrong?
The cargo tray on the affected 2018-2019 Keystone Montana High Country, Montana, Avalanche, and Alpine trailers is a sliding storage tray mounted in the trailer's cargo area. It is built to pull out for loading and unloading, then stop at a bracket so the tray stays controlled instead of sliding free. The stop bracket and its fasteners hold that stop point in place.
On these trailers, the top bracket on the MORryde cargo tray was secured with aluminum rivets that are not strong enough for the force placed on the bracket when the tray is opened. When that force loads the bracket, the rivets can shear. If the bracket lets go, the cargo tray can detach from its intended stop point.
Owners have a visible warning sign. The yellow stop tab on the MORryde tray will be loose, which means the stop hardware is no longer holding as designed.

What's the safety risk?
A cargo tray that detaches can strike someone and increase the risk of injury. If the yellow stop tab on the MORryde tray is loose, keep people clear of the tray and arrange the dealer repair soon. Repair is free at any franchised Keystone dealer.
What should I do?
- Check your VIN to confirm your 2018-2019 Keystone Alpine, Avalanche, Montana, or Montana High Country trailer is included in this recall.
- Contact a franchised Keystone dealer to schedule the free fastener replacement that re-secures the cargo-tray stop bracket.
- Reference recall number 19V129 when you call, and bring the owner notice if Keystone mailed one.
- Keep people clear of the cargo tray and avoid use of the tray until the repair is complete.
What happens at the repair
At the dealer, a Keystone technician replaces the affected fasteners that secure the cargo tray stop bracket. The repair is free under the recall, with parts and labor covered. Because Keystone has a general reimbursement plan on file, owners who already paid for the same cargo tray fastener repair can ask Keystone about reimbursement and provide repair documentation for review. Bring prior repair paperwork to the service desk when you schedule service or arrive.

Frequently asked questions
What is recall 19V129?
Recall 19V129 covers 1,535 2018-2019 Keystone Montana High Country, Montana, Avalanche, and Alpine recreational trailers equipped with cargo trays. The rivets securing the cargo-tray stop bracket can shear, allowing the tray to detach. Keystone dealers will replace the affected fasteners for free.
What should I do if my 2018-2019 Keystone Montana High Country, Montana, Avalanche, or Alpine is on this recall?
Check your VIN to confirm your specific trailer is included in recall 19V129. If it is, contact a franchised Keystone dealer to schedule the cargo-tray fastener replacement. Reference Keystone recall number 19-347 when you call. The repair is free.
Is the recall repair free?
Yes. Federal recall law requires the manufacturer to repair the defect at no cost, and Keystone dealers will replace the affected cargo-tray fasteners free of charge. Keystone customer service is available at 1-866-425-4369 for recall number 19-347.
What is the safety risk?
The safety risk is injury from a detached cargo tray. If the stop-bracket rivets shear, the cargo tray can detach and hit someone near the trailer. Confirm your VIN, then schedule the free fastener replacement with a Keystone dealer.
What if I bought this Keystone trailer used?
The free recall repair still applies. Recalls follow the VIN, not the first owner, so a used 2018-2019 Keystone Montana High Country, Montana, Avalanche, or Alpine still qualifies if its VIN is included. Check your VIN before calling the dealer.
