What's wrong?
The turn signal switch in the 2019 Cadillac CT6 is the part behind the steering column stalk that turns the left or right signal lamps on and off. In normal use, the switch works with the steering column so the signal cancels after the wheel rotates back from a turn.
On affected CT6 vehicles, the wrong turn signal switch was installed. The correct switch has a pawl, a small mechanical catch, that lines up with the driver side front airbag coil assembly. With the incorrect switch, that catch does not interface the way it should, so steering wheel rotation does not automatically shut off the flashing turn signal lamps.
The warning sign is visible from the driver's seat. The turn signal telltales on the instrument panel will show that the signal lamps are still activated after the turn is complete.
Who's affected?

What's the safety risk?
An active turn signal left on after a turn sends the wrong message to pedestrians and other drivers and increases crash risk. Watch the turn signal indicators after each turn and switch the signal off manually if it stays active. Repair is free at any franchised Cadillac dealer.

What happens at the repair
At the dealer, a Cadillac technician replaces the turn-signal switch so the signal system can cancel correctly after steering input. The replacement parts and labor are free under recall 19V117. Reimbursement is handled through the existing warranty, not through a separate reimbursement program, because all covered CT6 vehicles are under warranty. Ask the service desk how warranty coverage applies to prior repair paperwork.
