Recall 19V107 affects 9 2014-2019 Mack Pinnacle (Chu), Pinnacle (Cxu), and Anthem (An) trucks for undersized brake tanks. Free repair at any franchised Mack dealer.
Mack is recalling 9 2014-2019 Pinnacle (Chu), Pinnacle (Cxu), and Anthem (An) trucks because the air brake supply tanks hold less air than required. During repeated brake applications, the undersized reservoir can reduce braking performance and increase crash risk; Mack dealers will complete the recall repair free of charge.

What's wrong?
The air brake supply tank on 2014-2019 Mack Pinnacle (Chu), Pinnacle (Cxu), and Anthem (An) trucks stores compressed air for the brake system. When the driver presses the brake pedal, that stored air helps apply the service brakes. The system depends on enough reserve air to meet FMVSS 121 requirements.
On affected trucks, the supply tank capacity is below the required amount, with air volume listed at 70% to 96% of the required level. Mack traced the problem to a missing restriction in engineering tables, which allowed trucks to be built without the required air tank capacity. That leaves less reserve air available for repeated brake applications than the standard requires.
There are warning signs before pressure drops too low. These trucks have air pressure gauges, plus low air pressure audible and visual alarms. If those warnings activate, stop using the truck and have a Mack dealer inspect the air brake system.

The year and model narrow the scope, but the VIN decides. Check your VIN to confirm whether your specific truck is included.
What's the safety risk?
An undersized air brake supply reservoir can leave too little air for the brakes during repeated brake applications. That reduces braking performance and increases the risk of a crash. Watch the air pressure gauges, and treat low air pressure audible or visual alarms as a reason to pull over and call the dealer. Repair is free at any franchised Mack dealer.
What should I do?

What happens at the repair
At the dealer, a Mack technician adds an air tank to bring the air brake supply system into the required volume range. The recall repair is free, with parts and labor covered. Mack has a general reimbursement plan on file for owners who already paid for a related repair before the recall notice. If that applies to you, bring repair invoices, receipts, and any prior service paperwork to the service desk so Mack can review the claim under its reimbursement plan.
