Recall 18V746 affects 8 2015, 2017 Kme Commercial Skid vehicles for inoperable pump warning lamps. Repair is free at any franchised Kme dealer.
Kme is recalling 8 2015, 2017 Commercial Skid vehicles equipped with Kubota diesel portable pumps because improper wiring can keep the oil-pressure and temperature warning lamps from lighting when needed. Without those lamps, a pump engine problem can go unwarned and a pump engine failure can reduce fire-containment ability, increasing injury risk; Kme dealers will repair the wiring free of charge.

What's wrong?
The 2015, 2017 Kme Commercial Skid uses a Kubota diesel powered portable pump with oil pressure and temperature warning lamps in the instrument panel. Those lamps are meant to light during the key-on check and alert the operator if the pump engine has low oil pressure or high temperature. That warning circuit is part of the electrical system, not the pump's water flow hardware.
On affected units, the LED connector lamp was wired incorrectly on Hale pump part number 200779, revisions A through C. Because of that wiring error, the oil pressure and temperature warning lamps do not light when the system needs to warn the operator. The corrected harness is labeled 200779 REV D, so earlier harness revisions are the version with the wiring issue.
The sign to check is at startup. With the switch in the run position before the engine starts, the oil pressure lamp does not illuminate.

A matching year and model does not guarantee inclusion. Check your VIN to confirm whether your specific vehicle is included in this recall.
What's the safety risk?
Inoperable warning lamps leave the operator without a clear alert that the pump's engine has a problem. If the pump's engine then fails, fire containment is reduced, increasing injury risk. Watch for the oil pressure lamp not lighting in the run position before startup. Repair is free at any franchised Kme dealer.
