Recall 18V425 covers 5 2019 Fleetwood Flair and Admiral motorhomes for slide-out wiring damage. Fleetwood completed the free repair in dealer inventory.
Fleetwood is recalling 5 2019 Flair and Admiral Class A motorhomes because rigid Romex wiring was routed through moving bed platform sections for the bedroom slide-out. The wire can be damaged as the slide-out moves, causing an electrical short and increasing fire risk; Fleetwood dealers will complete the repair free of charge.

What's wrong?
The 2019 Fleetwood Flair and Admiral motorhomes use a 120-volt nightstand receptacle in the bedroom slide-out area. Wiring from that receptacle passes near the bed platform, where part of the bed moves with the slide and part stays fixed. In that moving area, the wire needs to flex as the room moves in and out.
On affected motorhomes, a rigid Romex wire was routed through the traveling and stationary bed platform sections instead of flexible-sheathed SJO cable. Romex is not meant to bend repeatedly in that location. The movement of the bedroom slide-out can damage the wire insulation or conductor, which lets the wiring heat up instead of carrying power cleanly.
The warning sign is damaged wiring that becomes hot or begins to smoke. If you notice heat, smoke, or an electrical smell near the bedroom slide-out or nightstand outlet, stop using that outlet and have the wiring inspected before the motorhome is used again.
Who's affected?
Covers 2 2019 motorhome models, Flair and Admiral, with wiring listed as the component for both.
| 2019 Fleetwood Flair | wiring |
|---|---|
| 2019 Holiday Rambler Admiral | wiring |
| Units affected | 5 |
| Field incidents | NHTSA has logged 5 field incidents to date. |
The year and model narrow the scope, but the VIN decides. Check your VIN to confirm whether your specific motorhome is included.
What's the safety risk?
Damaged wiring can short and increase the risk of a fire. If you notice heat or smoke near the bed platform or slide-out area, stop using the motorhome and call the dealer. Repair is free at any franchised Fleetwood dealer.
What should I do?
- Check your VIN to confirm your 2019 Fleetwood Flair or Admiral motorhome is included in this recall.
- Contact a franchised Fleetwood dealer to confirm the recall repair is complete or schedule the free wiring repair.
- Ask the dealer to verify the wire-harness rerouting that keeps the bedroom slide-out from damaging the 120-Volt receptacle wiring.
- Reference recall number 18V425 and Fleetwood recall 180618REV when you call.
- Call Fleetwood customer service at 1-800-509-3417 with recall questions.
What happens at the repair
At the dealer, a Fleetwood technician re-routes the wire harness so the flexible-sheathed SJO cable passes through the moving and fixed bed platform sections in the bedroom slide-out area. The original routing placed non-flexible Romex where slide-out movement can damage it. Fleetwood completed the recall work on the affected dealer inventory motorhomes by July 3, 2018, free of charge. Out-of-pocket repairs already paid are covered through the new vehicle warranty, not through a separate reimbursement program.

Frequently asked questions
What is recall 18V425?
Recall 18V425 covers 5 2019 Fleetwood Flair and Admiral Class A motorhomes with bedroom slide-out wiring routed through the bed platform using non-flexible Romex wire. Movement from the slide-out can damage the wiring and cause an electrical short, increasing fire risk.
What should I do if my 2019 Fleetwood Flair or Admiral is on this recall?
Check your VIN to confirm your specific motorhome is included in recall 18V425. If it is, contact a franchised Fleetwood dealer or REV customer service at 1-800-509-3417 and reference recall 180618REV. The listed affected motorhomes were repaired before leaving dealer inventory.
Is the recall repair free?
Yes. Federal recall law requires the manufacturer to repair the defect at no cost, and REV completed this wiring repair free of charge. The remedy rerouted the wire harness so flexible-sheathed SJO cable passes through the traveling and stationary bed platform sections.
What is the safety risk?
The safety risk is fire from damaged wiring in the bedroom slide-out area. The original routing put non-flexible Romex wire through moving bed platform sections, where slide-out movement can damage the wire and create an electrical short.
Were owners notified about the repair?
The affected motorhomes were repaired while still in dealer inventory, and all listed vehicles were repaired as of July 3, 2018. If you bought the motorhome used, check your VIN anyway so you can confirm the recall status against your exact vehicle.
