What's wrong?

The rear side red reflectors on the 2016-2017 Acg Moke are small reflective markers mounted near the rear sides of the low speed vehicle. They do not light up by themselves; they bounce other drivers' headlights back at night or in dim conditions. That extra reflection helps traffic see the vehicle's rear corners.

On affected Moke vehicles, the reflector was held to the body with double-sided adhesive tape. Heat and normal vehicle vibration broke down that attachment, so the reflector separated from the body and fell off. Acg found missing rear side red reflectors during inspections, even though final assembly records showed the reflectors were installed when the vehicles left Chino, California.

There is no warning sign before failure. After the reflector falls off, an owner sees an empty mounting area or a missing red side marker at the rear of the vehicle.

A matching year and model does not guarantee inclusion. Check your VIN to confirm whether your specific vehicle is included.

What's the safety risk?

When rear side red reflectors are missing, the Moke is less visible to other drivers. That reduced visibility increases the risk of a crash. Drive cautiously in low light or poor weather until the reflector repair is complete, and schedule the recall service soon. Repair is free at any franchised Acg dealer.

What should I do?

  1. Check your VIN to confirm your 2016-2017 Acg Moke is included in this recall.
  2. Contact a franchised Acg dealer to schedule the free rear-side-reflector installation that restores the vehicle's side visibility.
  3. Bring the recall notice, or reference recall number 18V317 when you call.
  4. Limit driving after dark until the reflector repair is complete.

What happens at the repair

At the dealer, an Acg technician installs a different rear side red reflector so the low speed vehicle has the required rear side visibility equipment. The recall repair is free, including parts and labor. ACG has a general reimbursement plan on file for owners who already paid for a related reflector repair before the recall work was completed. Contact ACG customer service with repair documentation if you need to ask about reimbursement for a prior out of pocket repair.
