What's wrong?
On 2013-2018 Morgan Truck Bodies, the recalled part is the Grote foreign to domestic converter wire harness. This wiring harness translates and routes lighting signals from the chassis electrical system to the rear turn signals, brake lights, and hazard lights on the truck body. When it works correctly, the outside lamps match the driver's signal inputs.
The problem is water intrusion. Water enters part of the harness because the original part is not water tight. Once moisture gets into the wiring, the lighting signals cross, weaken, or stop. Morgan reports included rear brake lights flashing, rear brake lights not operating, hazard signals not operating, and light bleeding from one turn signal to the other.
The driver does not get a separate warning before the lighting fault appears. There is no warning sign before failure.
