What's wrong?
The headlights on the 2017-2018 Holiday Rambler motorhomes use glass lenses over the low beam and high beam lamps. Those lenses protect the lamp and help keep the light aimed through a clear, intact surface. The glass is supposed to be tempered, which means it is heat-treated so it resists cracking and breakage better than ordinary glass.
On the recalled motorhomes, some low beam and high beam headlamp lenses were made with untempered glass. That glass breaks more easily under stress from handling, vibration, and normal road use. REV traced the problem to defective imported lenses, and the faulty lenses have a small "KII" mark embossed on the glass.
There is no warning sign before failure. An owner can inspect the headlamp lens for the "KII" mark, but a lens that has not cracked yet can still be part of the defect.

A matching year and model does not guarantee inclusion. Check your VIN to confirm whether this recall applies to your specific motorhome.
What's the safety risk?
A non-tempered headlamp lens can crack or break, reduce illumination, or cause early headlight bulb failure. That loss of light increases crash risk, especially in dark or poor-weather driving. Drive cautiously until the headlamps are inspected and repaired. Repair is free at any franchised Holiday Rambler dealer.
What should I do?
- Check your VIN to confirm your 2017-2018 Holiday Rambler Vacationer Xe, Admiral Xe, Navigator, Endeavor Xe, or Endeavor is included in this recall.
- Contact a franchised Holiday Rambler dealer to schedule the free headlight-lens inspection.
- Schedule replacement of any non-tempered headlamp lenses that crack or break and reduce headlight illumination.
- Bring the recall notice if you have it. If not, reference recall number 17V477 and REV recall 170720REV when you call.
- Drive cautiously until the repair is complete, especially at night or in low visibility.
What happens at the repair
At the dealer, a Holiday Rambler technician inspects the headlamp lenses to confirm whether non-tempered glass lenses are installed. If the vehicle has the defective lenses, the technician replaces them with new headlamp lenses. Parts and labor are covered under the recall, so the repair is free. The manufacturer is not offering a separate reimbursement program because repairs to these motorhomes are covered by the new vehicle warranty. Ask the service desk how that warranty coverage applies if you have prior repair paperwork.

Frequently asked questions
What is recall 17V477?
Recall 17V477 covers 219 2017-2018 Holiday Rambler motorhomes with headlamp lenses that were not made with tempered glass. The lens can crack or break, reducing light output or causing early headlight bulb failure. Authorized dealers inspect the lenses and replace defective ones for free.
What should I do if my 2017-2018 Holiday Rambler motorhome is on this recall?
Check your VIN to confirm your specific motorhome is included in recall 17V477. If it is, contact an authorized Holiday Rambler dealer for a headlamp lens inspection. Reference recall number 17V477 or REV recall number 170720REV when you call. The repair is free.
Is the recall repair free?
Yes. Federal recall law requires the manufacturer to fix the defect at no cost. Authorized dealers will inspect the headlamp lenses and, if needed, replace non-tempered defective lenses with new headlamp lenses free of charge.
What is the safety risk?
The safety risk is reduced headlight performance. If a headlamp lens is not tempered, it can crack or break, which can reduce illumination or cause early headlight bulb failure. That increases crash risk, especially when the motorhome needs full headlight output.
What if I bought this motorhome used?
The free recall repair still applies. Recall coverage follows the VIN, not the first owner. Check your VIN to confirm whether your specific motorhome is included, then call an authorized Holiday Rambler dealer with recall number 17V477.
