Recall 17V426 affects 636 2017-2018 Triumph Street Cup motorcycles for strained hazard-light wiring. Repair is free at any franchised Triumph dealer.
Triumph is recalling 636 2017-2018 Street Cup motorcycles because normal steering movement can strain the hazard-warning-light wiring harness. If those wires pull loose from the connector, the hazard warning lights stop working when the rider needs them, reducing visibility and increasing crash risk; Triumph dealers will complete the recall repair free of charge.

What's wrong?
The hazard warning light wiring on the 2017-2018 Triumph Street Cup is part of the electrical harness that carries power from the right-hand switch cube to the lights. When the hazard switch is used, that wiring lets the warning lamps flash together so the motorcycle is easier to see when it is stopped or disabled.
On affected motorcycles, the electrical block connector is fixed to the headlamp bowl bracket in a way that limits its movement. Normal steering then pulls on the sub harness instead of letting the connector move with the bars. Over time, that strain damages the wires that serve the hazard warning lamps. The individual turn indicators still work, but the hazard warning light function is lost.
There is no warning sign before failure. An owner first notices the problem when the hazard warning lights do not operate, even though the separate left and right indicators still function.

A matching year and model does not guarantee inclusion. Check your VIN to confirm whether your specific motorcycle is included.
What's the safety risk?
Pulled wiring can loosen at the connector and leave the hazard warning lights inoperative. Without hazard lights, the motorcycle is harder for other drivers to see when hazards are needed, increasing the risk of a crash. There is no warning sign before failure. Repair is free at any franchised Triumph dealer.
What should I do?
- Check your VIN to confirm your 2017-2018 Triumph Street Cup is included in this recall.
- Contact a franchised Triumph dealer to schedule the free supplemental-harness installation that adds wiring length for the strained hazard warning light harness.
- Bring the recall notice if Triumph mailed one. If not, reference recall number 17V426 and Triumph recall Safety Recall 549 when you call.
- Use extra caution until the repair, especially during roadside stops when hazard warning lights are needed.
What happens at the repair
At the dealer, a Triumph technician extends the hazard warning light wiring by installing a supplemental harness, so normal steering movement no longer pulls the wiring tight. Parts and labor are covered under the recall. Out-of-pocket repairs already paid are handled through Triumph's limited warranty, not through a separate reimbursement program, because any failure before the owner notice would have been covered by that warranty. Ask the service desk how warranty coverage applies if you have prior repair paperwork.

Frequently asked questions
What is recall 17V426?
Recall 17V426 covers 636 2017-2018 Triumph Street Cup motorcycles with hazard-warning-light wiring that can be pulled and strained during normal steering. Triumph dealers will extend the wiring length by installing a supplemental harness for free.
What should I do if my 2017-2018 Triumph Street Cup is on this recall?
Check your VIN to confirm your specific motorcycle is included in recall 17V426. If it is, contact a franchised Triumph dealer to schedule the supplemental harness installation. Reference Safety Recall 549 or recall 17V426 when you call. The repair is free.
Is the recall repair free?
Yes. Federal recall law requires the manufacturer to repair the defect at no cost, and Triumph dealers will install the supplemental wiring harness free of charge. Parts and labor are covered at any franchised Triumph dealer.
What is the safety risk?
