What's wrong?
The Bus-Air air conditioning system on 2012-2017 Trans Tech ST Aero, Cst, Sst, Horizon, and Roadstar buses uses an in-line fuse holder in the electrical feed for the A/C system. That fuse holder carries a 30AMP fuse, which is meant to protect the circuit by opening the circuit when electrical current exceeds the rated limit.
On affected buses, the fuse holder can overheat. The filing points to two conditions: the holder can short against the screw that secures it, and the circuit can be overloaded when extra equipment, including GPS or communication systems, is added. If the electrical area is not properly separated from the storage compartment, heat at the fuse holder can become a fire risk.
There is no warning sign before failure. Do not wait for a dash light or a change in A/C performance before asking a Trans Tech dealer to inspect the recalled fuse holder.

What should I do?
- Check your VIN to confirm your 2012-2017 Trans Tech ST Aero, Cst, Sst, Horizon, or Roadstar is included in this recall.
- Contact a franchised Trans Tech dealer to schedule the free in-line mini fuse holder installation that keeps the Bus-Air air conditioning fuse from shorting against its securing screw.
- Bring the recall notice if Trans Tech mailed one, or reference recall number 17V399 when you call.
- Keep the bus out of service if the air conditioning fuse holder overheats or shows melting, and ask the dealer how to move it safely.
What happens at the repair
At the dealer, a Trans Tech technician installs an in-line mini fuse holder for the Bus-Air air conditioning system. The repair is free under the recall, with parts and labor covered. The fuse holder keeps the air conditioning fuse protected and secured, so the dealer work focuses on adding the correct in-line holder. Trans Tech has a general reimbursement plan on file for owners who already paid for this recall-related repair. Bring documentation of the paid repair to the service desk or contact Trans Tech customer service.
