What's wrong?
The hybrid power drive unit cradle on the 2012-2016 Autocar Xpeditor is the support structure that holds the hybrid drive unit to the underside of the truck. That drive unit is part of the propulsion system, so the cradle has to keep it fixed in place while the chassis moves, vibrates, and carries load.
On affected Xpeditor trucks, the cradle mounting bolts were not tightened correctly. The bolts also lacked thread locking agent, the compound that helps keep a fastener from backing out under vibration. If those bolts loosen, the cradle no longer holds the power drive unit securely, and the unit can become partially detached from the underside of the vehicle.
There is no warning sign before failure. A driver should not count on noise, vibration, or a dashboard alert to appear before the mounting hardware lets go.

What's the safety risk?
Improperly torqued mounting bolts can loosen and allow the power drive unit and drive shaft to detach from the vehicle. Detached parts create a road hazard and increase crash risk for you and other drivers. Until repaired, drive cautiously and schedule service soon. Repair is free at any franchised Autocar dealer.
