What's wrong?
The liquid propane (LP) line on the 2017 Winnebago View and Navion feeds fuel to the water heater. Where that line passes into the coach, a rubber grommet is supposed to fill the hole around the line. That seal keeps the LP line separated from the living space and blocks gases from moving through the opening.
In recall 16V511, the grommet around the LP line was installed incorrectly at the Truma water heater opening. Instead of closing tightly around the line, the grommet has a gap. That gap leaves a path for carbon monoxide or LP gas to enter the living quarters, which turns a small installation defect into an interior air safety problem.
There is no warning sign before failure. An owner cannot count on a dash light, water-heater message, or visible change inside the coach to show that the grommet is open.

A matching model year and model does not guarantee inclusion. Check your VIN to confirm whether your specific motorhome is included.
What's the safety risk?
Carbon monoxide or LP gas entering the living quarters can make occupants ill or cause death. Until the repair is done, take any gas odor or suspected exhaust intrusion seriously: leave the living area, avoid using propane appliances, and schedule the recall repair soon. Repair is free at any franchised Winnebago dealer.
What should I do?

- Contact a franchised Winnebago dealer to schedule the free grommet-sealant repair that blocks carbon monoxide or LP gas from entering the living quarters.
- Bring the recall notice if Winnebago mailed one. If not, reference recall number 16V511 and Winnebago recall 141 when you call.
- Keep carbon monoxide and LP gas detectors working, and avoid using the motor coach living quarters until the repair is complete.
What happens at the repair
At the dealer, a Winnebago technician applies sealant to the grommet opening where the liquid propane line passes into the coach. The seal closes the gap that let carbon monoxide or LP gas enter the living quarters. The recall repair is available now, and parts and labor are free. Ask the service desk to confirm that recall 16V511 is open for your VIN before the appointment.
