What's wrong?
The entrance step system on 2007-2010 Haulmark Motorcoach recreational vehicles uses an electric Coachstep assembly to move the steps into place when someone enters or exits. Inside that assembly, a fan gear helps hold and position the steps. A center bolt attaches the fan gear assembly to the steps, so the steps stay where the system expects them to stay.
In recall 16V132, the center bolt in certain LCI Coachstep electric double or triple entrance steps can fracture. Once that bolt breaks, the fan gear assembly can disengage from the steps. The steps can then shift out of the expected position and become unstable under a person's weight. The fix adds a retainer bracket that gives the step assembly the structural support the bolt did not provide.
