Imt is recalling 822 2013-2016 Dominator vehicles under recall 16V088 because the valve bank cover on certain IMT Series III cranes can crack and fall while the vehicle is being driven. If the cover detaches, it becomes a road hazard and increases crash risk; the Imt dealer repair is free.

What's wrong?
The affected 2013-2016 Imt Dominator trucks are fitted with Series III cranes. On those cranes, the valve bank cover sits over the valve bank, the group of hydraulic valves that routes fluid to crane functions. The cover is supposed to stay attached and shield that valve area while the truck is driven and while the crane is in service.
Imt introduced a larger cover when it added a second valve bank option to these cranes. The larger cover can vibrate excessively on certain roads. That vibration stresses the metal until fatigue cracks form, and a cracked cover can break away from the crane while the vehicle is moving.
The warning sign is visible cracking in the valve bank cover. Inspect the cover periodically for cracks. If cracks are forming, have the cover removed or replaced before the truck is driven again.
Who's affected?
The scope covers four Dominator model years, from 2013 through 2016, under the same Equipment component.
| 2016 Imt Dominator | Equipment |

| 2013 Imt Dominator | Equipment |
| 2014 Imt Dominator | Equipment |

A matching year and model does not guarantee inclusion. Check your VIN to confirm whether your specific truck is included.
What's the safety risk?
A loose valve bank cover can detach from the crane and become a road hazard, which increases the risk of a crash. Inspect the cover for cracks. If cracking appears, remove or replace the cover and arrange the dealer repair soon. Repair is free at any franchised Imt dealer.
What should I do?
- Check your VIN to confirm your 2013-2016 Imt Dominator is included in this recall.
- Contact your nearest franchised Imt dealer to schedule the free valve-bank-cover replacement that fixes the crane cover that can crack and fall into the road.
- Bring the recall notice if Imt has mailed one. If not, reference recall number 16V088 when you call.
- Drive cautiously until the repair is complete and check around the crane cover for loose or cracked equipment before each trip.
What happens at the repair
At the dealer, an Imt technician replaces the crane valve bank cover with a thicker cover. The replacement parts and labor are free under the recall. If you've already paid for this repair, use Imt's warranty claim process to request reimbursement for parts and labor. Keep any prior repair paperwork with your service records so the dealer or Imt customer service can match the claim to the covered repair.

Frequently asked questions
What is recall 16V088?
Recall 16V088 covers 822 2013-2016 Imt Dominator vehicles fitted with certain Imt Series III cranes. The crane valve bank cover can crack, detach while the vehicle is being driven, and create a road hazard that increases crash risk.
What should I do if my 2013-2016 Imt Dominator is on this recall?
Check your VIN to confirm your specific vehicle is included in recall 16V088. If it is, contact a franchised Imt dealer to schedule replacement of the crane valve bank cover with a thicker cover. Reference recall 16V088 or Imt recall TB2016002 when you call.
Is the recall repair free?
Yes. Federal recall law requires manufacturers to repair safety defects at no cost, and Imt dealers will replace the valve bank cover with a thicker one free of charge. The recall repair has been available since April 6, 2016.
Is it safe to drive my Imt Dominator before the repair?
The recall does not include a do-not-drive order. The safety concern is that the crane valve bank cover can detach while driving and become a road hazard. If your VIN is included, schedule the free cover replacement and ask the dealer if the vehicle needs service before normal use.
