What's wrong?
The camber caster kit bolt on the 2014-2016 Micro Bird Mb Ii School Bus and G5 School Bus is part of the front wheel alignment hardware. Its job is to hold the suspension adjustment in the correct position so the front wheels sit at the angle specified for stable steering and even tire contact.
On affected buses, that bolt was not tightened to Ford's required torque during installation. Micro Bird reported that the required torque is 76 lbs/ft, but the supplier applied about 50 lbs/ft. With less clamping force than specified, the bolt can loosen during service, and the front alignment can move out of position.
The warning sign is vibration in the steering wheel when the bolt comes loose. If a driver feels that vibration on one of these school buses, the alignment hardware needs dealer inspection before the bus returns to normal service.
