Recall 15V767 affects 43 2006-2014 Starcraft Bus Prodigy and Quest school buses for loose wheelchair-lift bearings. Repair is free at any franchised Starcraft Bus dealer.
Starcraft Bus is recalling 43 2006-2014 Prodigy and Quest school buses equipped with certain Ricon wheelchair lifts because oversized pivot holes can let lift bearings move out of position. The platform can move excessively and fail at its mounting, which increases injury risk when the doors open; Starcraft Bus dealers will complete the repair free of charge.

What's wrong?
On 2006-2014 Starcraft Bus Prodigy and Quest school buses, the wheelchair lift uses folding link arms to move and support the lift platform as it deploys, raises, lowers, and stows. The bearings in those arms sit in pivot holes, letting the arms rotate smoothly while keeping the platform aligned under load.
The recall concerns certain Ricon S2005, S2010, S5005, S5010, S5505, and S5510 lifts with pivot holes that are too large. When the holes are oversized, a bearing can shift out of position. A shifted bearing or bent knuckle link arm can leave the arm unsupported, and the platform can crack while the lift is stowed.
The warning sign is visible during inspection. Look at the folding link arms and bearings; if a bearing has moved out of its hole or the link arm looks bent, that is the condition described in recall 15V767.

The year and model narrow the scope, but the VIN decides. Check your VIN to confirm whether your specific bus is included.
What's the safety risk?
A shifted lift bearing can let the stowed platform move too much, leading to platform-mount failure. When the doors open, the platform can fall out of the vehicle and injure the lift operator. A displaced bearing is visible during inspection, so keep people clear of the lift area and schedule the repair soon. Repair is free at any franchised Starcraft Bus dealer.
What should I do?
- Check your VIN to confirm your 2006-2014 Starcraft Bus Prodigy or Quest is included in this recall.
- Contact a franchised Starcraft Bus dealer to schedule the free wheelchair-lift inspection and repair.
- Ask the dealer to inspect the Ricon folding link arms, bearings, and platform cracks that can let the stowed lift platform move or fall when the doors open.
- Bring the recall notice if Starcraft Bus sent one. If not, reference recall number 15V767 when you call.
- Keep passengers and operators clear of the wheelchair lift until the inspection and any needed repair are complete.
What happens at the repair
At the dealer, a Starcraft Bus technician inspects the Ricon wheelchair lift link arms for damage and displaced bearings. The technician also checks the lift platform for cracks. Any damaged link arms, bearings, platform parts, or related lift components covered by the recall are replaced free of charge. If you've already paid out of pocket for a related lift repair before the recall notice, ask Forest River customer service or Ricon Customer Service how to submit documentation under the general reimbursement plan on file.

Recall 15V767 covers 43 2006-2014 Starcraft Bus Prodigy and Quest school buses with certain Ricon wheelchair lifts. The folding link arms can let bearings move out of position, which can lead to platform mounting failure. Damaged parts are replaced for free.
What should I do if my 2006-2014 Starcraft Bus Prodigy or Quest is on this recall?

Yes. Federal recall law requires the manufacturer to repair the defect at no cost. For recall 15V767, the link arms and platform are inspected, and any damaged parts are replaced free of charge.
