Kymco is recalling 824 2015 Super 8-150 X and Super 8-50 X scooters because the front hydraulic brake hose can be routed where it contacts the front tire under suspension compression. Tire contact can rupture the hose, cause loss of front braking, and increase crash risk; Kymco dealers provide the recall repair free of charge.

What's wrong?
The front hydraulic brake hose on the 2015 Kymco Super 8-150 X and Super 8-50 X carries brake fluid to the front brake. When you squeeze the brake lever, that fluid pressure applies the front brake so the scooter slows. The hose has to stay clear of the tire while the front suspension moves up and down.
On affected scooters, the stays that hold the brake hose on the front suspension do not keep the hose far enough away from the front tire. When the suspension is deeply compressed, the hose flexes toward the tire and contacts it. That contact wears the hose, and a worn hose can rupture and leak brake fluid.
Before failure, the operator can hear a rubbing sound from the front of the scooter when the suspension compresses. The operator can also feel vibration through the handlebars. Those signs mean the brake hose is contacting the tire and needs dealer inspection.
Who's affected?
Covers two Super 8 X scooter variants from the same model year, both tied to the hydraulic brake hose.

What's the safety risk?
Brake hose contact with the tire can rupture the hose, causing loss of front brakes and increasing crash risk. A rubbing sound from the front of the vehicle or vibration through the handlebars when the suspension compresses is a warning sign. Schedule the recall repair soon. Repair is free at any franchised Kymco dealer.
What should I do?

- Bring the recall notice if Kymco mailed one. If not, reference recall number 15V583 when you call.
- Ride cautiously until the repair is complete, and stop riding if the front brake feels weak or you see brake-fluid loss.
- Call Kymco customer service at 1-888-235-3417 with questions about scheduling or owner notices.
What happens at the repair
At the dealer, a Kymco technician replaces the two brake hose securing brackets that hold the front hydraulic brake hose in the correct position. This keeps the hose from being routed where it can contact the front tire when the suspension compresses. The recall repair is available now at an authorized Kymco dealer, and parts and labor are covered. Call the dealer with campaign 15V583 before you bring the scooter in.
