The alternator on these 2012-2016 Peterbilt trucks makes electrical power while the engine is running and keeps the battery charged. This recall involves trucks equipped with an extended-body Leece Neville alternator. Its charge cable carries current away from the alternator, so the cable insulation has to stay protected from nearby metal parts.
