2015-2016 Entegra Cornerstone Recall 15V429: Brake Hose

Recall 15V429 affects 211 2015-2016 Entegra Cornerstone motorhomes because jack plates can rub the brake air hose. Repair is free at any franchised Entegra dealer.

Entegra is recalling 211 2015-2016 Cornerstone Class A motorhomes because retracted rear jack plates can rub the tag axle brake air hose. If the hose leaks while the brake pedal is pressed, braking performance on the drive and tag axles drops, stopping distance increases, and the Entegra dealer repair will be free once available.

What's wrong?

The 2015-2016 Entegra Cornerstone uses air brake hoses and fittings to carry compressed air to the tag axle brakes. That air pressure is what lets the brake system apply force at the axle when the driver uses the brake pedal. The hose has to stay clear of nearby moving parts so it is not pinched or worn through.

On affected Cornerstone motorhomes, the rear jack plates sit too close to the tag axle brake air hose when the plates retract. A 45 degree brake line fitting left the hose at an angle where it caught on the jack plate. As the motorhome moved with the jack plates retracted, the plate rubbed the hose repeatedly. The repair changes the fitting to a 90 degree fitting so the hose routes away from the jack plate.

The warning sign is a loss of air pressure. If pressure in the primary reservoir falls below 65 psi, the low air warning light and buzzer alert the operator.

Who's affected?

Spans two Cornerstone model years, with the brake system component common to both.

A matching year and model does not guarantee inclusion. Check your VIN to confirm whether your specific motorhome is included.

What's the safety risk?

Rear jack plates can rub the air brake hose and cause an air leak while braking. That reduces braking performance at the drive axle and tag axle, lengthens stopping distance, and increases crash risk. If the low air warning light and buzzer activate below 65 psi, stop safely and call the dealer. Repair will be free at any franchised Entegra dealer once available.

What should I do?

  1. Check your VIN to confirm your 2015-2016 Entegra Cornerstone is included in this recall.
  2. Contact Entegra customer service at 1-800-945-4787 to confirm the free tag axle brake air hose repositioning is open for your VIN.
  3. Ask a franchised Entegra dealer about the repair that moves the brake air hose clear of the rear jack plate.
  4. Bring the recall notice if Entegra mailed one. If not, reference recall number 15V429 when you call.
  5. Avoid driving if the motorhome shows an air-brake leak, reduced braking, or longer stopping distance; ask Entegra or the dealer how to move it safely.

What happens at the repair

Entegra's final dealer repair is not listed as available yet. Once it opens, an Entegra technician will reposition the tag axle brake air hose so it clears the rear jack plate when the plate retracts. Parts and labor are covered under the recall. Entegra has a general reimbursement plan on file for this campaign. If you've already paid for a related brake air hose repair, keep your invoice and repair paperwork so the service desk or Entegra customer service can review the claim under that plan.

Frequently asked questions

What is recall 15V429?

Recall 15V429 covers 211 2015-2016 Entegra Cornerstone Class A motorhomes built on a Spartan chassis. Rear jack plates can rub the tag axle brake air hose when retracted. Entegra dealers will reposition the brake air hose so it clears the jack plate for free.

What should I do if my 2015-2016 Entegra Cornerstone is on this recall?

Check your VIN to confirm your specific motorhome is included in recall 15V429. If it is, contact a franchised Entegra dealer and ask for the tag axle brake air hose repositioning repair. Reference recall number 15V429 when you call. The repair is free.

Is the recall repair free?

Yes. Federal recall law requires the manufacturer to repair the defect at no cost, and Entegra's remedy states that dealers will reposition the tag axle brake air hose free of charge.

What is the safety risk?

The safety risk is reduced braking performance. If the rear jack plates rub the brake air hose, an air leak can occur while the brake pedal is pressed, reducing braking at the drive axle and tag axle, lengthening stopping distance, and increasing crash risk.

What if I bought my Entegra Cornerstone used?

The free repair still applies. Recall eligibility follows the VIN, not the original owner. Check your VIN to confirm whether your specific motorhome is included, then contact a franchised Entegra dealer and reference recall number 15V429.
