Recall 15V408 covers 426 2009-2012 Carson Fun Runner trailers with Fastec door locks that can jam. Cylinder inspection and replacement are free through Fastec.
Carson is recalling 426 2009-2012 Fun Runner trailers because the Fastec door lock can jam the deadbolt when the key is removed. If the interior side of the lock jams too, a person inside can be trapped and forced to use the emergency exit; the dealer repair will be free once available.

What's wrong?
The door lock on the 2009-2012 Carson Fun Runner is the latch and deadbolt assembly in the trailer entry door. It is supposed to hold the door closed while the trailer is parked and let the owner lock, unlock, and open the door with the key and handle. The deadbolt is the solid locking bar that slides into the door frame.
On affected Fun Runner trailers, the Fastec-brand lock can bind when the key is pulled out in the wrong position. That key position can leave the deadbolt jammed instead of fully locked or fully unlocked. When the deadbolt jams, the door lock no longer moves cleanly, and the entry door does not release the way it should.
There is no warning sign before failure. The lock can feel normal until the key is removed and the deadbolt sticks. If the key or handle resists movement, describe it to the Carson dealer as a Fastec door-lock deadbolt that can jam.
Who's affected?
Spans four Fun Runner model years, all tied to the same door latch component.

A matching year and model does not guarantee inclusion. Check your VIN to confirm whether your specific trailer is included.
What's the safety risk?
A jammed deadbolt can also jam the interior side of the door lock, leaving a person inside the travel trailer unable to use the main door. That raises the risk of injury during an exit. Use the emergency exit if the main door will not open, and schedule the repair soon. Repair will be free at any franchised Carson dealer once available.
