Recall 15V298 affects 110 2006-2015 Starcraft Allstar, Starlite, Senator Ii, and Starquest buses for loose power-terminal connections. Repair is free at any franchised Starcraft dealer.
Starcraft is recalling 110 2006-2015 Allstar, Starlite, Starquest, and Senator Ii transit buses built on GM chassis because Trans-Air compressor kit installation left the power distribution terminal strip at risk of a poor or loose connection. That connection can arc or overheat and raise the risk of a fire, and the dealer repair is free.

What's wrong?
The affected 2006-2015 Starcraft Allstar, Starlite, Senator Ii, and Starquest buses use a GM cutaway chassis with a Trans-Air add-on compressor kit for the air conditioning system. The compressor mount sits near engine-bay parts that include the fan shroud and a power distribution terminal strip. That terminal strip is a connection point that routes electrical power through the front of the engine compartment.
During compressor installation, a GM cable routed across the fan shroud had to be disconnected so the shroud and mount bracket work could be done. The problem is that the cable was not always reconnected correctly to the terminal strip stud. A loose or poor connection at that stud can create heat at the electrical connection under the hood.
An owner or driver can notice a smell of smoke, heat from under the hood, or a terminal strip stud that is hot to the touch. There can also be no warning sign before failure.

The year and model narrow the scope, but the VIN decides. Check your VIN to confirm whether your specific bus is included.
What's the safety risk?
A poor or loose connection at the power distribution terminal strip can arc or overheat, increasing the risk of a vehicle fire. Watch for a smoke smell, heat from under the hood, or a terminal strip stud that feels hot. There can also be no warning sign before the problem. If you notice heat or smoke, stop driving and call the dealer. Repair is free at any franchised Starcraft dealer.
What should I do?
- Check your VIN to confirm your 2006-2015 Starcraft Allstar, Starlite, Senator Ii, or Starquest bus is included in this recall.
- Contact a franchised Starcraft dealer to schedule the free power distribution terminal strip inspection that checks for a loose connection after the Trans-Air compressor installation.
- Bring the recall notice if Starcraft mailed one. Reference recall number 15V298 when you call.
- Call Starcraft customer service at 1-800-348-7440 with questions before the dealer visit.
- Stop using the bus if the terminal strip overheats or arcs before the repair, and call the dealer for guidance.
What happens at the repair
At the dealer, a Starcraft technician inspects the power distribution terminal strip connection tied to the Trans-Air compressor installation and corrects the connection as needed. The inspection and any needed correction are free under the recall. Starcraft has a general reimbursement plan on file for owners who already paid for the same repair before the recall notice. Keep repair orders, invoices, and proof of payment, then ask Starcraft customer service or the dealer service desk how to submit documented expenses under that plan.
