Recall 15V203 affects 35 2015-2016 Tracer RVs for slide-room attaching screws that can let the room extend. Repair is free at any franchised Tracer dealer.
Tracer is recalling 35 2015-2016 TRT3200BHT, TRT270AIR, 31BD, 29SB, GT335, CAF3825FL, and FR30 vehicles because screws that hold the expanding room to the sliding cable mechanism can fail. If that room extends while the vehicle is moving, crash risk increases; Tracer dealers will complete the free repair.

What's wrong?
The slide room on these 2015-2016 Tracer recreational vehicles is the expandable room section that moves in and out of the body. Its actuator uses an aircraft cable, drive chain, yokes, and small screws to pull the room in or push it out. Those screws are supposed to keep the cable connection locked to the drive chain under load.
The problem is inside that slide actuator hardware. The supplier substituted through hardened screws for case hardened screws. Case hardened screws have a hard outer surface with a tougher center, which helps them resist snapping under load. The substituted screws fracture, the yoke detaches from the drive chain, and the slide room is no longer held where it belongs.
The warning sign is the slide room moving outward while the vehicle is in motion. If that happens, stop using the vehicle until the slide room mechanism is inspected and repaired.
Who's affected?
Covers 7 RV models from the 2015 and 2016 model years under the same recreational vehicle/trailer equipment recall.

What's the safety risk?
A slide room that moves outward while the vehicle is in motion can increase crash risk. Before travel, confirm the slide room is fully retracted and secured. If it shifts or starts to extend, pull over when safe and call a Tracer dealer. Repair is free at any franchised Tracer dealer.
What should I do?
- Check your VIN to confirm your 2015-2016 Tracer TRT3200BHT, 31BD, GT335, CAF3825FL, TRT270AIR, 29SB, or FR30 is included in this recall.
- Contact a franchised Tracer dealer to schedule the free slide-room cable screw replacement that keeps the room from extending unintentionally while the vehicle is moving.
- Bring the recall notice if you have it. If not, reference recall number 15V203 when you call.
- Avoid moving the RV or trailer if the slide room does not stay fully retracted; call the Tracer dealer for service direction.
What happens at the repair
At the dealer, a Tracer technician replaces the screws that attach the expanding room to the sliding mechanism cable. That repair keeps the slide room secured so it does not extend while the vehicle is moving. The recall repair is free, including parts and labor. Ask the service desk to confirm the slide room mechanism cable attaching screws are covered under recall 15V203 before the work begins.

Frequently asked questions
What is recall 15V203?
Recall 15V203 covers 35 2015-2016 Tracer TRT3200BHT, 31BD, GT335, CAF3825FL, TRT270AIR, 29SB, and FR30 vehicles with slide-room cable attaching screws that can fail. If the room extends while the vehicle is moving, crash risk increases. Dealers will replace the screws for free.
What should I do if my 2015-2016 Tracer TRT3200BHT, 31BD, GT335, CAF3825FL, TRT270AIR, 29SB, or FR30 is on this recall?
Check your VIN to confirm your specific vehicle is included in recall 15V203. If it is, contact a franchised Tracer dealer to schedule replacement of the slide-room mechanism cable attaching screws. Reference recall number 15V203000 and Tracer recall number 51-0331201501 when you call.
Is the recall repair free?
Yes. Federal recall law requires the manufacturer to repair the defect at no cost. For recall 15V203, dealers will replace the slide-room mechanism cable attaching screws free of charge, including parts and labor.
What is the safety risk?
The safety risk is unintended slide-room extension while the vehicle is moving. If the room extends in motion, the vehicle is harder to control around traffic and obstacles, increasing crash risk. Confirm your VIN, then arrange the free screw replacement before further travel.
What if I bought this Tracer used?
The free recall repair still applies. Recalls follow the VIN, not the first owner. If you bought the vehicle used and never received a letter, check your VIN and give the dealer recall number 15V203000 when scheduling service.
