Recall 15V185 covers 3,732 2015 Freightliner trucks for brake drag from brake-chamber diaphragms. Repair is free at any franchised Freightliner dealer.
Freightliner is recalling 3,732 2015 trucks, including the Cascadia, Business Class M2, 108SD, 114SD, 122SD, Coronado, 4700, and 4900, because Haldex Life Seal brake chambers have an improperly seated diaphragm that creates brake drag. At highway speeds, brake drag can cause loss of vehicle control and increase crash risk; Freightliner dealers will complete the free repair.

What's wrong?
The Haldex Life Seal brake chamber is part of the air brake system on the affected 2015 Freightliner trucks, including the Cascadia, Business Class M2, 108SD, 114SD, 122SD, Coronado, 4700, and 4900. In an air brake system, compressed air moves a diaphragm inside the brake chamber. That movement turns air pressure into mechanical force that applies the brake at the wheel.
On the recalled trucks, the diaphragm inside the brake chamber was not seated correctly during manufacture. When that diaphragm sits out of position, the chamber does not move as designed. The result is brake drag, which means the brake stays partly applied instead of fully releasing after the driver lets off the pedal.
The filing does not identify a driver warning sign before the brake chamber problem appears. There is no warning sign before failure. A driver who notices dragging, heat, odor, or unusual brake feel should treat it as a service issue and have the truck checked.

A matching year and model does not guarantee inclusion. Check your VIN to confirm whether this recall applies to your specific truck.
What's the safety risk?
Brake drag at highway speeds can make the truck harder to control and increase the risk of a crash. If your VIN is included, schedule the recall repair soon and ask the dealer whether the vehicle is safe to operate until service. Repair is free at any franchised Freightliner dealer.
What should I do?
- Check your VIN to confirm your 2015 Freightliner 114SD, 4900, Business Class M2, Coronado, 108SD, Cascadia, 122SD, or 4700 is included in this recall.

- Bring the recall notice if you have it. If not, reference recall number 15V185 when you call.
- Drive cautiously until the repair is complete, especially at highway speeds, and leave extra following distance.
- Call Freightliner customer service at 1-800-745-8000 with questions and reference Freightliner recall FL676.
What happens at the repair
At the dealer, a Freightliner technician replaces the Haldex Life Seal brake chambers covered by this recall. The brake chamber contains the diaphragm that helps apply and release braking force; an improperly seated diaphragm can leave the brakes dragging. The replacement parts and labor are free of charge. The repair is available now, so the service desk can schedule the truck for the brake chamber replacement under the recall.
