Recall 15V021 covers 10 2015 Polar Tank ATB6 Trailer, APX0 Trailer, and Srjh Trailer vehicles for actuator leakage. Free repair at franchised Polar Tank dealers.
Polar Tank is recalling 10 2015 ATB6 Trailer, APX0 Trailer, and Srjh Trailer units because the parking brake actuator diaphragm was not fully attached. Air can leak into the parking brake section, keep the actuator from fully releasing, drag and overheat the wheel-end service brakes, and raise the risk of a fire; Polar Tank dealers will complete the free repair.

What's wrong?
The air brake actuator on the 2015 Polar Tank ATB6 Trailer, APX0 Trailer, and Srjh Trailer turns air pressure into braking force. In normal operation, the service brake side applies the brakes while the parking brake side holds or releases the trailer when air pressure changes. The rubber diaphragm inside the actuator separates those sections so air pressure goes where it belongs.
On affected trailers, the internal rubber diaphragm in certain Haldex Life Seal Type 30/30 Long Stroke Air Brake Actuators was not fully seated in the spring piston during assembly. That incomplete seating lets air leak internally from the service brake section into the parking brake section. Trapped air pressure then prevents the actuator from fully releasing, which leaves the wheel-end brakes dragging and overheating.
A driver can notice overheated wheel ends during the pre-trip or post-trip walk-around inspection. A mechanic can also spot overheated wheel ends during routine maintenance or repair work.
Who's affected?
Covers the ATB6 Trailer, APX0 Trailer, and Srjh Trailer in the 2015 model year, all tied to the same parking-brake actuator.
| 2015 Polar Tank ATB6 Trailer | Actuator |

A matching year and model does not guarantee inclusion. Check your VIN to confirm whether your specific trailer is included.
What's the safety risk?
Internal leakage in the brake actuator can trap air pressure in the parking brake section. That pressure can keep the actuator from fully releasing, causing brake drag, overheated wheelend service brakes, and a higher fire risk. Check for overheated wheelends during walkaround inspections and have maintenance staff treat heat signs seriously. Repair is free at any franchised Polar Tank dealer.
What should I do?
- Check your VIN to confirm your 2015 Polar Tank ATB6 Trailer, APX0 Trailer, or Srjh Trailer is included in this recall.
- Contact a franchised Polar Tank dealer to schedule the free actuator inspection and replacement that fixes the parking-brake actuator leak risk behind brake drag and overheated service brakes.
- Bring the recall notice if you have it, and reference recall number 15V021 (Polar Tank recall 14E075) when you call.
- Avoid using the trailer after signs of brake drag or overheated service brakes; contact the dealer before moving it again.
What happens at the repair
At the dealer, a Polar Tank technician inspects the Haldex Life Seal long stroke air brake actuators and replaces affected actuators as needed. The inspection, replacement parts, and labor are free under the recall. Polar Tank has a general reimbursement plan on file for owners who already paid out of pocket for this actuator repair before the recall notice. Bring repair invoices or other documentation to the service desk, and ask Polar Tank customer service how to submit the claim if the dealer does not process it directly.

Frequently asked questions
What is recall 15V021?
Recall 15V021 covers 10 2015 Polar Tank ATB6 Trailer, APX0 Trailer, and Srjh Trailer units with Haldex Life Seal air brake actuators. The parking brake diaphragm attachment can be incomplete, which can trap air pressure, cause brake drag, overheat wheel-end brakes, and increase fire risk. Polar Tank dealers inspect and replace the actuators for free.
What should I do if my 2015 Polar Tank ATB6 Trailer, APX0 Trailer, or Srjh Trailer is on this recall?
Check your VIN to confirm your specific trailer is included in recall 15V021. If it is, contact a Polar Tank dealer to schedule the parking brake actuator inspection. The dealer will replace affected actuators as needed for free. Reference Polar Tank recall number 14E075 when you call.
Is the recall repair free?
Yes. Federal recall law requires manufacturers to repair safety defects at no cost, and Polar Tank dealers will inspect and replace the affected Haldex Life Seal brake actuators as needed for free under recall 15V021.
What is the safety risk in recall 15V021?
The safety risk is brake drag that can overheat the wheel-end service brakes and increase fire risk. In recall 15V021, trapped air pressure in the parking brake section can keep the actuator from fully releasing. Confirm your VIN, then schedule the free dealer inspection and actuator replacement if needed.
What if I bought this Polar Tank trailer used?
The free recall repair still applies. Federal recall law requires the manufacturer to honor recall 15V021 regardless of ownership history. If you never received a letter, check your VIN, then call a Polar Tank dealer or Polar Tank customer service at 1-320-746-2255.
