What's wrong?
The inside air conditioner shroud on the 2015 Winnebago Vista and Itasca Sunstar is the interior cover for the roof air conditioner. It helps direct cooled air into the living area. A damper plate inside that shroud is supposed to control the air discharge so it does not blow across the range burner flame.
On these motorhomes, that damper plate was left out. Without it, air from the roof air conditioner can disrupt the range flame when the air conditioner and range are used at the same time. The burner is then not operating as designed, which is why Winnebago treated the missing plate as a safety defect.
There is no warning sign before failure. The missing plate is hidden inside the shroud, so an owner would not see the problem during normal use unless the air conditioner cover is inspected.
Who's affected?
The scope is limited to two 2015 Winnebago motorhome lines, Vista and Itasca Sunstar, with the same air conditioner component listed for each.

A matching year and model does not guarantee inclusion. Check your VIN to confirm whether your specific motorhome is included.
What's the safety risk?
If the air conditioner blows out the range flame while propane keeps flowing, a nearby ignition source can ignite the gas and start a fire. If your VIN is included, stop using the range and schedule the repair soon. Repair is free at any franchised Winnebago dealer.
What should I do?

- Bring the recall notice if Winnebago sent one, and reference recall number 14V506 when you call.
- Avoid using the range while the roof air conditioner is running until the damper-plate repair is complete.
What happens at the repair
At the dealer, a Winnebago technician removes the current diverter inside the roof air conditioner shroud and installs the damper plate covered by recall 14V506. That plate helps keep air discharge from the roof air conditioner from disrupting the range flame. The recall repair is free. Parts and labor are covered, and the service desk can confirm the repair order against your VIN before work begins.
