Recall 13V415 covers 478 2006-2013 Kingston horse trailers with dressing rooms and Fastec door locks. Free Fastec inspection and cylinder replacement.
Kingston is recalling 478 2006-2013 horse trailers, including Belvedere Ii and Brunswick models with dressing rooms, under recall 13V415 because Fastec-brand door locks can jam the deadbolt after the key is removed. If the lock jams with someone inside, that person can be trapped and forced to use the emergency exit, increasing injury risk; the Kingston dealer repair will be free once available.

What's wrong?
The door lock on affected 2006-2013 Kingston horse trailers is the Fastec-brand latch and deadbolt used on trailers built with dressing rooms. The latch holds the dressing room door shut during travel, and the deadbolt is the keyed lock that keeps the door secured when the trailer is parked or in use. When it works normally, the key turns the lock, the deadbolt moves fully, and the door opens again from the handle side.
On these trailers, the key can be removed from the lock in the wrong position. That leaves the deadbolt partly set or misaligned inside the latch. Once the deadbolt jams, the door lock does not release the way it should, and the dressing room door can stay stuck closed or become hard to open.
There is no warning sign before failure. The lock can feel normal until the key is removed in the position that jams the deadbolt.

The year and model narrow the scope, but the VIN decides. Check your VIN to confirm whether your specific trailer is included.
What's the safety risk?
If the deadbolt jams, the interior side of the door lock can jam too. That can trap someone inside the travel trailer and force use of the emergency exit, increasing the risk of injury. Schedule the recall work and keep the emergency exit clear until the repair is complete. Repair will be free at any franchised Kingston dealer once available.
What should I do?
- Check your VIN to confirm your 2006-2013 Kingston Belvedere Ii, Brunswick, Bedford, Windsor, T.D., Newport, Essex, Derby, or Classic Elite trailer is included in this recall.
- Contact Kingston at 1-781-585-4337 to confirm the notice status and free Fastec lock-cylinder inspection.
- Schedule the Fastec lock-cylinder replacement if inspection shows the deadbolt can jam and trap someone inside.
- Reference recall number 13V415 when you call Kingston or the repair location.
- Use the emergency exit plan for the trailer until the lock inspection and any needed replacement are complete.
What happens at the repair
Kingston's source remedy says owners are notified and Fastec coordinates the inspection and replacement of the affected door lock cylinders as needed. Once the dealer repair is available, a Kingston technician inspects the Fastec door lock cylinder and replaces the cylinder if it is covered by the recall. Parts and labor are free under the recall. The source does not provide a separate reimbursement plan, so reimbursement is not addressed in this section.

Frequently asked questions
What is recall 13V415?
Recall 13V415 covers 478 2006-2013 Kingston horse trailers with dressing rooms and Fastec-brand door locks. The deadbolt can jam after key removal, trapping a person inside unless they use the emergency exit. Fastec will coordinate inspection and cylinder replacement for free.
What should I do if my 2006-2013 Kingston horse trailer is on this recall?
Check your VIN to confirm your specific trailer is included in recall 13V415. If it is, contact Kingston or a franchised Kingston dealer and reference recall number 13V415. The lock cylinder inspection and replacement are free.
Is the recall repair free?
Yes. Federal recall law requires the manufacturer to repair the defect at no cost, and Kingston's recall remedy says Fastec will coordinate inspection and replacement of the affected lock cylinders free of charge.
What is the safety risk?
The safety risk is entrapment. If the deadbolt jams, the interior side of the door lock can jam too. A person inside the trailer can be unable to exit through that door and need the emergency exit, increasing the risk of injury.
What if I bought my Kingston trailer used?
The free recall repair still applies. Recall coverage follows the trailer, not the first owner. Check your VIN to confirm whether your Belvedere Ii, Brunswick, Bedford, Windsor, T.D., Newport, Essex, Derby, or Classic Elite trailer is included before calling for service.
