What's wrong?
The recalled equipment is the power awning system on 2013 Gulf Stream Sedona, Canyon Trail, Kingsport, and Trail Master trailers equipped with Weatherpro and 9100 series power awnings. The awning motor assembly is the powered unit that turns the awning mechanism, letting the fabric extend from the side of the trailer and retract before travel. The small mounting screws in that assembly help hold the motor in place while it works under load.
On affected trailers, a design change in the motor assembly left those screws vulnerable to shearing. When a screw shears, it breaks instead of continuing to hold the motor assembly securely. The failure happens inside the assembly, where the awning hardware hides the fasteners from normal view.
There is no warning sign before failure. Because the screws are hidden, an owner is not expected to see the problem during normal awning use before the motor assembly screws break.
