Recall 13V139 affects 19,258 2013 Nissan Pathfinder and Jx vehicles for weak front brake torque members. Repair is free at any franchised Nissan dealer.
Nissan is recalling 19,258 2013 Pathfinder and Jx vehicles because the front brake torque member was improperly cast and can crack early. If that part fails, the brake caliper can contact the road wheel, reducing braking and increasing crash risk; the dealer repair will be free once Nissan makes the remedy available.

What's wrong?
The front brake torque member on the 2013 Nissan Pathfinder and Jx is a cast metal bracket in the brake assembly. It helps hold the front brake caliper in the correct position so the brake pads press squarely against the rotor when you step on the pedal. That bracket has to stay rigid while braking force passes through it.
On affected vehicles, the torque member was improperly cast. That casting problem left the part structurally weak, so the bracket can crack or fail earlier than designed. If the bracket cracks, the front brake assembly loses the solid support it needs during braking.
There is no warning sign before failure. Do not rely on noise, vibration, or a dashboard light to tell you the part is about to crack.
Who's affected?
Two SUV nameplates from the 2013 model year share the same brake-system issue.
| 2013 Nissan Pathfinder | brake system |
|---|---|
| 2013 INFINITI Jx | brake system |
| Units affected | 19,258 |
A matching year and model does not guarantee inclusion. Check your VIN to confirm whether your specific SUV is included.
What's the safety risk?
A failed brake torque member can let the brake caliper move into the inside of the road wheel. That can reduce braking and increase the risk of a crash. Schedule the recall inspection soon and drive cautiously until the work is done. Repair will be free at any franchised Nissan dealer once available.
What should I do?
- Check your VIN to confirm your 2013 Nissan Pathfinder or Jx is included in this recall.
- Contact Nissan customer service or a franchised Nissan dealer with recall number 13V139 to confirm the repair status for your VIN.
- Schedule the free brake torque member inspection and replacement if the dealer confirms parts and service are open for your vehicle.
- Bring the recall notice if you have it, and ask the dealer to inspect the front brake torque members for the casting weakness that causes cracking and reduced braking.
- Drive cautiously until the repair is complete. Leave extra following distance and avoid hard braking.
What happens at the repair
Nissan's repair plan is for a Nissan technician to inspect the manufacturing date on the front brake torque members. If the inspected torque members fall within the affected manufacturing dates, the technician replaces them. The dealer repair will be free once available, with parts and labor covered under recall 13V139. Keep the service paperwork for your records after the inspection or replacement is complete.
