Recall 12V532 affects 715 2006-2009 Airstream Classic recreational vehicles for brake-hose fatigue or rubbing. Repair is free at any franchised Airstream dealer.
Airstream is recalling 715 2006-2009 Classic recreational vehicles because the brake hose can flex near the brake assembly fitting or rub during suspension travel. A failed hose can cause loss of brake pressure, reduced braking performance, and loss of vehicle control; the Airstream dealer repair will be free once available.

What's wrong?
The hydraulic brake hose on a 2006-2009 Airstream Classic is the flexible line that carries brake fluid to the brake assembly. When the trailer brakes are applied, pressurized fluid moves through that hose so the brake components can clamp and slow the wheels. The hose has to bend with normal suspension movement without kinking, rubbing, or pulling at its fittings.
On affected Classics, the hose can flex too close to the fitting on the brake assembly. That repeated bending puts stress into a small area of the hose and leads to fatigue. During suspension travel, the hose can also rub against the underside of the trailer, which wears the outside of the line instead of letting it move clear of nearby surfaces.
There is no warning sign before failure. Because the recall filing does not identify a driver-noticeable symptom, treat brake fluid seepage, visible hose wear, or a change in trailer braking as a reason to stop using the trailer and arrange service.
Who's affected?
The scope spans 4 model years and uses 2 related brake labels: hydraulic brake hose and hydraulic brake system.

The year and model narrow the scope, but the VIN decides. Check your VIN to confirm whether your specific trailer is included.
What's the safety risk?
Brake hose failure from flexing or rubbing reduces brake pressure and braking performance. Loss of braking ability increases the risk of losing vehicle control and crashing. Until the repair is complete, schedule service soon and avoid delaying brake-line work. Repair will be free at any franchised Airstream dealer once available.
What should I do?
- Check your VIN to confirm your 2006-2009 Airstream Classic is included in this recall.

- Reference recall number 12V532 when you call the dealer or Airstream customer service.
- Bring the owner notice if Airstream mailed one to you.
- Tow cautiously and leave extra stopping distance until the brake hose routing is corrected.
What happens at the repair
At the dealer, an Airstream technician replaces the brake lines and reroutes them so the hose does not flex near the brake assembly fitting or rub under the trailer during suspension travel. The source remedy says owner notification began on November 19, 2012, but the current remedy status was not supplied. The dealer repair will be free once available. No separate reimbursement details were supplied for this recall.
