What's wrong?
The Dometic conventional microwave oven in the 2010-2011 Coachmen Brookstone trailer uses a blower unit to move hot exhaust air out of the appliance cabinet. During normal operation, that airflow carries heat away from the oven and routes it out through the front vent instead of letting it collect behind the installed unit.
On affected Brookstone trailers, the microwave was installed before the blower unit was rotated 180 degrees as required by the manufacturer instructions. With the blower left in the wrong position, exhaust air is not directed out the front as intended. That leaves heat and exhaust air moving into the surrounding cabinet area instead of following the designed vent path.
There is no warning sign before failure. An owner who sees unusual heat around the microwave trim, cabinet area, or nearby surfaces should stop using the microwave and have the installation checked.
Who's affected?
Covers the 2010 and 2011 model years under the same recreational vehicle/trailer equipment component.

The year and model narrow the scope, but the VIN decides. Check your VIN to confirm whether your specific trailer is included.
What's the safety risk?
The microwave oven defect presents a fire risk inside the RV. If your VIN is included, avoid using the microwave until the inspection and blower-tube correction are complete, and contact a franchised Coachmen dealer for recall service. Repair will be free at any franchised Coachmen dealer once available.
What should I do?

What happens at the repair
Once the dealer repair is available, a Coachmen technician will inspect the conventional microwave oven installation. If the defect is present, the technician will rotate the blower tube so the oven exhaust follows the manufacturer's installation instructions and vents out the front of the appliance. The dealer repair will be free once available, with parts and labor covered under recall 11V053.
